As Representative Bart Stupid and the so-called “pro-life” Democrats betray their conscience in order to consolidate Democratic power and help that fretard, Nancy Pelosi pass socialized healthcare and take over the Amerikan economy, I am reminded of the great Robert Frost poem, “The Road Not Taken”.
Our founders did not follow in the steps of the French or any of the other countries of the day that were erupting from their feudal shackles into infant democracies. They chose the road less taken, the one where government is a necessary evil, but not necessarily intrusive or controlling. A road where people were free to pursue their own success without fear of burdensome government regulation. A road where we as individuals are accountable for own actions, but are free to enjoy the rewards of honest, hard work and not have our labors stolen to provide housing, food, or healthcare for those who won’t work. We’ve already turned food and housing into an entitlement that has created a class of useless people in this country who are waste of good air. A friend who is a manager of a local Albertsons grocery store told me recently of someone who came in using food stamps, and a roll of cash, to buy steak, lobster and other groceries. My friend was covering a register and the arrogant, ungrateful prig actually had the unmitigated gall to laugh at him and say, “I probably eat better than you.” Fortunately for that jerk, it wasn’t me or I would’ve knocked his teeth out and told him to enjoy gumming his beef. But I digress.
Unfortunately, as tomorrow dawns and the dust finally settles from the near constant battle over healthcare, the Democrat party has taken us back to the proverbial fork in the road. But rather than reaffirm the wisdom of our founders and the success that made Amerika exceptional, they choose to explore the fork that many have already travelled. Like slow-witted children who are not smart enough to learn from the mistakes of their elders, the Democrats believe that they can make socialized medicine work despite the fact that it is a miserable failure in every country (and the few states) that have tried it. By turning healthcare into yet another entitlement, they are not creating a great new program to make Amerika better, but a new wedge issue which they will use to further their own power. While they may lose some seats in Congress due to flat out arrogantly ignoring the will of the people, they are already setting the foundation for a whole new wave of constituents and supporters. Today, as the debate over healthcare winded down into a vote, several thousand marched on DC, not to support healthcare, but to urge Congress to next take up immigration reform and the amnesty issue. Knowing Obama and his ilk, this was a carefully orchestrated maneuver to bring to the attention of the media (and the alert public) the next issue they are going to tackle. If Congress has the impudence to ignore the will of the people on healthcare knowing their jobs will be in jeopardy, how desperate do you think they will be to add another 20 plus million voters before November in order to stave off the constituent hemorrhaging that will undoubtedly result from passing the healthcare monstrosity?
Once they have cemented both their absolute control over the government, the economy and our lives, we have much to look forward to. One member of Pelosi’s “most ethical Congress in history”, Democrat Congressman Alcee Hastings, who has the dubious honor of being one of only six United States judges to actually be impeached by the Senate, said yesterday, “When the deal goes down, all this talk about rules, we make ‘em up as we go along.” In a country that was founded on the Constitution and the rule of law, so that everyone knew where they stood, Hastings confession of what lies ahead indicates that our future as a democratic republic is over.
Let me be the first to welcome you to the United States of Socialist Amerika.
