Let's Connects the Dots...

August 23, 2010 17:12 by KRM

An article from last Friday’s UK Telegraph asks the astonishing question – “does Barack Obama want to get re-elected in 2012?”  It’s a fair question, considering Obama’s complete and utter failure to find common ground with the dumb masses who elected him.  See my post from last week, for a look at three of those failures.  The Telegraph translates this disconnect with the American public as an indication that Obama sees himself more as a player on the international stage than on the American political stage, because as the Telegraph states, “Elite opinion among liberal Ivy League types - of which Obama is the embodiment - holds that we are already living in a post-American world”.

There could be another reason Obama shows such disdain for the opinion of the American public and getting re-elected.

While the Telegraph accurately identifies Obama as an Ivy League liberal elitist, what they don’t identify is one of the goals of these types.  The signs are in the press daily, but few people are connecting the dots.  The Telegraph hints at it, but doesn’t explicitly call it out, when they state Obama might be aiming for a “post-presidential role as the leading global thinker”.  With his ineptitude at running this country, I seriously doubt anyone is ready to hand him the key to globe yet, but that doesn’t undermine the idea that someone is eyeing a position as a global leader.

Various news outlets have covered the ideas floated by the Chinese and other economic powers that we need a new world currency, something other than the dollar since our economy is proving to be as instable as some banana republic ruled by tin pot head.  George Soros, one of the biggest backers of all things progressive, including the current occupant of the White House, is openly calling for a new global currency.  Soros, using MoveOn.org to help Obama get elected, has also said that a decline in the dollar is desirable in order to achieve the goals of a new world economy.  Probably because the dollar is not as easy to manipulate as a currency in a completely state-controlled economy.

Almost daily, some paper also covers “globalism” or how we are becoming more and more connected because of technology, and less defined by borders.  The Democrats' own lack of interest in protecting our southern border, despite constant public opinion to deal with the immigration issue, shows that their true colors are not entirely “American”.  By allowing non-English speakers to freely cross and take up residence, they are allowing what it means to be a United States citizen to be diminished.

And that, I think, is what Obama’s job really is. The president himself was raised abroad and seems to have little understanding of the American spirit.  If he can somehow transfer his own thin opinion of America to the rest of us and diminish our institutions, diminish what it means to be an American and have American values and undermine the importance of national sovereignty, then he will have completely accomplished what no other progressive has been able to do – prepare America for its place in a new global order where we are neither exceptional or a more desirable place to live than any other hell hole in the world.
