A Spoonful of Reform

So now it’s done.  Obama and the Democrats finally succeeded in foisting their ghastly, bloated healthcare legislation upon the American public.  What was most amazing to me about the whole signing ceremony, aside from the fact that Biden can speak without a teleprompter, a skill Obama has yet to master, were the number of lies Obama managed to spit out in the first few minutes. I want to focus on just one of them.

Right off the top, Obama let slip that the bill was not perfect when he admitted that the Senate still had a round of improvements to make.  But at this point in his tenure, Obama is so desperate for a legislative victory, it wouldn’t have mattered if the bill funded killing puppies and Bigfoot research, once both House and Senate signed it, he was going to sign it and sign its praises.  And just a few seconds later, he further proved how shameless he is when he claimed “We need to get this right”.  If getting it right is so important, why sign it until it actually is, Mr. President?

I think he was trying to make the case that he’d rather get started with what they have, than continue to have Congress spin its legislative wheels when he claimed “It will take four years to implement fully many of these reforms”.   Personally, I’m not buying that.  In the past, Congress has signed into law bills that were retroactive.  If they really wanted to do it right, or at least their perception of what would've been right since most Americans don't want this in any way, shape or form, they could have worked on this a few more weeks or months and then implemented all of the proposed healthcare “reforms” immediately.   I think the real reason is because now that Congress finally got the frog in the pot, he wanted to pop on the lid and turn on the heat before the frog could jump out.

Just a day after the signing ceremony, Rep. John Dingle of D-Michigan, confirmed my theory and let the cat out of the bag why it was rushed through.  He said in a radio interview, “it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people”.  Obama’s and Dingle’s statements, taken together, indicate a chilling plan.  The purpose of “healthcare reform” as many Conservatives have been saying all along, is not about reform, that’s just the package the Devil is offering the apple in.  The real goal is to “control the people”.

And in case you’re wondering, that means you!

I imagine that the new theme song of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the Democratic leadership inner circle, goes something like “Just a spoonful of reform helps the socialism go down, the socialism go down, in the most delightful way.”  I wonder what socialist scheme will be served in a spoon in a gooey, sweet mixture of reform next?
